Read a Beginner’s Guide to start Working Out

You probably heard of the many positives regular exercise can do for your health, including improving energy, mood, sleep, and reducing anxiety, stress, and depression. However, if you’re struggling to get out of a sedentary rut, you may find achieving your fitness goals challenging. But, it doesn’t have to be! All you need to have is the determination and motivation to stick to your fitness goal. Your workout plan will automatically fall into place. You can make exercise less intimidating and painful and more fun and spontaneous. All you need is a plan and some motivation to get started.

As an experienced fitness trainer at CG Training, I want to help new exercisers like you to begin a workout plan and understand what they need to get started. To help you with this, I have put together a Beginner’s Guide to start working out.

Getting Started

Work with a personal trainer: Instead of trying to exercise all by yourself and possibly not getting results, a personal trainer can help you find the proper workout and intensity for you to begin. They will also help keep you focused and progressing.

Prepare yourself: The main idea is to have a goal in mind of what you want to accomplish (find your goal). Prepare yourself by thinking of your reason for beginning a workout program, whether it’s for health, weight loss or weight gain, or other personal reasons.

Next Steps

Make time: Plan your day and try to find some free time for activities. It doesn’t have to be at the same time every day; even short five, ten, or fifteen-minute bursts of exercise can prove very effective.

Assemble your equipment: Purchase minimal equipment to use such as a mat, light, and heavy weights (such as three and five or eight-pound), small ball, or leg bands. You don’t need a lot when you are beginning. Also, make sure you invest in a good pair of shoes.

Form a diet plan: Try to begin slowly changing your diet to less fast food, sodium, sugar, and fat, and add in whole grains, fruits, veggies, salads, wraps, and stir-frys to aid in weight loss or a leaner look.

Advice From The Pros

Remember your goals: Keep remembering your purpose or the reason you started with your fitness goal. Think about it every day, every meal, every time you “don’t feel like it” because you know you will feel better when it is done. It will improve your body and your mind!

Be strict with your diet plan: One cheat meal is acceptable, but continuing to eat junk instead of stopping and focusing on getting back on track, will lead you nowhere. That said, if you derail from your fitness or diet program, you can always work it off tomorrow and start over. Just make sure that you set your limits and keep yourself motivated.

Consistency is key: Depending on your goal, you must work out three to five days a week. Make sure you stick to it every week, every month, every year, as this is your new routine if the goal is that important to you. If you couldn’t work out this week, make sure you sum it up in the next week. Commit yourself to the program right away.

Ask for help: Contact a professional to at least have a few sessions with you to show you the proper form of exercises and make you a program to start with. They will help you start gradually and ensure you do not hurt yourself or impact your health negatively.
